The inscription on this image has changed.
In the 1880's it was captioned with a typewriter:
"THE NEW CLOCK SEPTEMBER 5, 1885"
In 1990 the image was discovered in a restored state with the handwritten caption:
"To Marty Partner in time September 5, 1885"
— Indecisive Moments
A fauxtograph that travels through time can exist in several different states and can be affected by a variety of different factors.
This image, as it was originally found in the Hill Valley Historical Society, featured an older man standing to the right of a large clock. The picture was partially burned in an accident when a young man was returning from the past to the present day with the fauxtograph. Prior to this, the young man, who was not in the original image, had also stepped in front of the camera while the original exposure was taken.
The image was restored to its current state, showing both men in the image, when the fauxtograph traveled from a point in time in the past (before it was destroyed) to the present on a separate occasion.
